Hello!
I am looking to build a budget gaming computer to play demanding games like Battlefield 3 at medium-high graphics with 50-60 fps. My monitor resolution is 1980x1080.

I've done some research and decided to go with the following components:

AMD FX 4300 Quad-Core processor (3,8GHz, Socket AM3+, 8MB Cache, 95 Watt) 100eur

Asrock 970 Extreme3 Mainboard (AM3+, DDR3, 2 x USB 3.0) 75eur

Asus AMD Radeon HD 7770 gpu (PCI-e, 2GB GDDR5 , DisplayPort, HDMI, VGA, DVI-D (Dual-Link) 120eur

650w power source 60eur

I already have vista 64-bit home premium, a case, 1tb harddrive, dvd player, mouse, keyboard and a monitor

I would like to know if these components would work good together or would they bottleneck each other? Or are there other components within the same price range that would give better performance? (total cost around 470 dollars) Should i also get a fan/cooler or are the ones that come with the parts good enough?

This is my first build, so please excuse me if i have left out some important information. Please tell me if this build is good or suggest other parts:)

Now for the explaining.

6300 is worth the extra money on 4300! It's the best bang for the buck CPU for gaming atm.
A CM hyper 212 EVO will give you better cooling of the CPU since the 6300 has a huge headroom to OC and it is made to OC.
That motherboard allows good OC'ing and is loaded with Asus features. Also it will allow you to crossfire later on.
Those are nice ram with good heatsinks.
7850 should be able to play all current games at mid-high graphics, 7770 is kinda very weak!
520W of supplu should be more than enough for your current needs, if you are planning to overclock go for the 620W!

your resolution would be 1920x1080
1st of all you did'nt select any RAM.. :/
2-your CPU is not good enough ,you should p[robably get a FX 6300 atleast..
3-your GPU is also not good enogh for your requirement..to play BF3 at that resolution with 50-60FPS..atleast get a 7850...
4-get a CPU cooler also so that you can overclock your cpu and get the maximum out of it..

check this out..i have made this according to you, i left out the parts you are having..

i know this is a bit more..but you should atleast get this to play at those settings

Thank you for your replies!

I think im going to go with the FX-6300 and probably the radeon hd 7850 2gb.
Would the Asrock 970 Extreme3 Mainboard go good with these parts?
I also forgot to mention that i already have 4GB of ram.

Does vista affect the performance of games? Or does windows 7 make a notable difference?

Out of curiousity, what kind of fps would i be looking at in Battlefield 3 multiplayer with the hd 7770 2gb at medium settings? high settings?

for mobo go for this.. ASUS M5A97 R2.0
and OS..Windows 7... vista is crap..!
7770 is not actually a high ended gaming GPU.... with 8gb and fx 6300 you might get 30FPS at medium @ 1080p (not sure about it)
