Hey!
Today i changed my old motherboard to a better one witch was laying around in the house. Computer worked just fine whit the old components and i checked all compatibles. Now when i try to boot my pc whit the new motherboard it gets stuck at loading windows screen, then it just restarts and says there is a error and the problem may be a recently installed hardware. And the thing that is freaking me out is that the motherboard gets super hot! my finger still hurts after touching the chipset heatsink ( same whit the gpu,cpu and all other components. ) So what may the problem be :/? Also i dont wanna put my old motherboard in cuz its really slowing the pc down.

Specs:
Cpu: Amd Athlon 2 4x 640
ram: ddr3 1333mhz
Gpu: nvidia gt 530
Psu: 300w
Hdd: 320gb segate
Old motherboard: DA061L-3D M/B
New motherboard: rs880pm-am

The two motherboards are not identical, right? The proper thing to do when swapping different motherboards is to reinstall Windows, since you're changing new hardware.

But please list your old & new specification so we can figure it out.

1.have you re-applied thermal paste when changing the motherboard?
2.Try double-checking over all the wires, making sure they're all properly plugged in.
3.by laying around your house, do you mean in its box or un-boxed? (for the new Mobo)

I put some quality thermal paste on the cpu.

I checked all the cables and tried different psu and still the same problem.
And i had it safe in the motherboard box.
All the components in the setup but the ram, came int the same computer. Could it be the Ram witch is causing trouble, still wondering how all the components get so hot :/?.

One possibility is that your original SATA mode in the bios was set to IDE, and the new motherboard is set to the more modern mode(AHCI). Try setting your new sata mode to IDE and see if it gets you into windows.
When you change your motherboard, windows may not have the proper drivers to run the chipset on the new motherboard.
I think you are facing a reinstall of windows. The driver cd that comes with your new motherboard will have the necessary drivers.

As to the heat issue, I can't say. If it was the cpu that was hot, I would suspect a bad cooler mount or unconnected cpu fan.
Until you can sort that out, take the case covers off and direct a house fan at the innards.

I tried IDE, AHCI and raid mode none of them works, tomorrow i will backup all my files and reinstall windows.
I still worry about the heat cuz its not only cpu even the Gpu, rams, chipset heatsink and all components on the motherboard gets really hot in a minute or two?

Got a Thermaltake ms-i case whit 1 intake 120mm fan and 1x 120mm rear fan,

Cpu cooler is stock whit a noctua fan ( no its not spinning to slow ) gpu also got a tiny fan.

So the problem is not case airflow.

seems like the system dosen't like 1 specific component and that pushes the system to limits?

Thanks mate i was wrong about the fan speed, cpu fan was spinning 350rpm when,
i disabled Q-fan it went straight up to 1400rpm now system temp is 25c and cpu temp around 40c :)

So now i got the heat problem solved :) so ill try to reinstall windows on a different hdd and see if it works.
