Ok , so about 3 months ago I believe my router stopped working after about 2-3 years of usage. Before going out to buy a new one I called the company (Belkin) support and they told me the problem was within my computer. Their tech support showed me some things within my event logs. Rather than taking their word I simply went out to get a new router and about 2 months after I began to lose internet randomly whether I was connected to the router or the modem only. Bringing me back to the Event viewer in System Admin I believe the problem could be within my computer.

Scroll up, there is one adapter that is partly hidden.

And run this,
1. Type CMD
2. Right click, run as admin
3.Type netsh winsock reset
4.Click enter
5.Reboot
6.Ping 4.2.2.2
7.Open browser, can you open web pages such as google& yahoo?
8.If no, set a valid DNS such as 8.8.8.8 Or 4.2.2.2
9.Is there internet? If not, destroy computer by smashing the screen against your face.
