Building new pc, looking for a little help selecting components

Hello, I am working on building a new pc capable of some higher end games, including battlefield 4. I have been researching all the different parts and came up with a list that costed about 700$ witch is my price range. I than found out about combos that looked cheaper and a lot better than my list they were called DIY combos from Newegg I am curious to know are these combos reliable and compatible? Also do they come in parts not pre-built (Because I want to build it myself) And last question is it better to just buy the parts separately, would it come in one box or a bunch?

Not necessarily the answer you are looking for but this site http://pcpartpicker.com/ will help out a great deal if you are looking to save as much as possible on your build, it automatically sorts the prices to help you find out where to get it for cheapest. Granted this site has its flaws they are next to none, I have been using this site for all of the builds I have made so far :)

I prefer choosing the components your self.
Those combos price are about the same price as you would buy them separately.
And if you chose the components yourself you can choose what suits you the most.
But if you'r knowledge about components is bad i prefer combos.

If you want gaming performance i recommend AMD-FX series whit your budget, but remember Amd processors gets hot and you may consider a aftermarket cpu cooler.

Also you may consider a SLI or Crossfire setup in some cases its cheaper, but then you also need a bit more expensive motherboard, and a higher psu.
I would also recommend a SSD that will speed up your system, if you buy a FX processor
And of course choose a case that catches your eyes :).
