Hi guys, I have a problem with my PC since I build it last november. Sometimes it freezes while I'm playing games or even while I'm simply watching youtube's videos. I can't use mouse or keyboard and the only way is to press the reset button. Windows doesn't give any error. During all this months I wasn't able to understand what was the issue, but I tried excluding some factors. To sum up what I already tried:

  • I tested ram with memtest86 (no problems), changed it because wasn't compatible with my first motherboard.
I excluded video card since the problem occured also using internal graphic
I excluded the wifi pci card both using powerline and a new wifi adapter
I excluded the motherboard since I changed it, from a gigabyte z77-ud5h to an asus p8z77-v
I tried with another hard disk
I formatted and fresh installed windows 7 ultimate several times

My sistem configuration:

Asus p8z77-v
Intel i5-3570K
Kingston 2x4GB 1600MHz Hyper-X
WD Caviar green 500GB
Sapphire 7850 2GB
Corsair CX-600W
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

I never oveclocked it, bios is up to date, all drivers installed are the latest versions. Today I ran: western digital data lifeguard, hd tune, crystaldisk, intel burn test, p95 and none of these showed anything wrong.
I link a video I recorded few months back during a freeze:

i know it's in italian but roughly transleted says: "The system restarted without a regular shut down. This error can be caused by an interruption, a crash or an unexpected power failure of the system."

I don't know, I use a well sealed Fractal R4 case so i can hardly hear anything. I was getting computer freezes with lots of static noise coming from my speakers (generated by the sound card). I think the fans kept going.

I am also having this problem. There appear to be a lot of threads on this with very little in the way of confirmed solutions. This is the most recent thread I can find, so I'm hoping it can resolve the issue. I will try getting a better PSU. The system I have is a stock HP Paviliion P6-250 with A8-5600K, Radeon 7560D, 16G RAM, Windows 8 64-bit. As OP, nothing overclocked. I bought it in March.

The problem I have is very similar, except the sound is more like loud static out of my speakers than the buzzing in OP's video. Scares the crap out of me every time. It only happens when I play Minecraft, either on its own or with YouTube minimized in IE10. Length of time playing can be 20-30 minutes up to a couple hours. I've also had it crash with a blue screen and IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL or something (wrote it down, but can't find my notepad), and have also just had it freeze with no sound. In each case, I have to turn it off and restart.

All drivers are current, Java is current, windows updates are current.

I ran GPU-Z and monitored temperatures of the GPU and it never went above 66C, and spent most of the time between 50-60C. Idle was around 40C +/- a few degrees.

I am unable to check the temperature of the CPU. I tried downloading CPU-Z and ESET complained it wasn't secure, so I ran RealTemp instead and it said the CPU wasn't supported.

Am beginning to think it is a PSU issue, but there's no indication that it is faulty, and for Minecraft, it shouldn't be overtaxed at all? It is the stock supply, I think 300W?
