How do I save my bookmarks from deletion on my work PC before Google deletes them?

So as part of an attempt to force a sync, I "stopped" Google sync in my Chrome browser after a fresh install of Windows 8. Doing this deleted all of my bookmarks from my Google account and replaced them with the Chrome bookmarks from my virgin install of Windows and Chrome. I confirmed this by opening Chrome on my phone and saw that there were no bookmarks there as well.

As far as I know, my only chance at restoring the original bookmarks is due to the fact that my work PC is turned off and the bookmarks still exist in the yet-to-be synced browser on that machine.

So when I get to work tomorrow, what steps can I take to keep Google sync from replacing my giant list of bookmarks that still exist on that PC with the current void that is now synced to my account? If I disconnect the network cable before opening Chrome and then open the browser, will I be able to quick save my bookmarks into a backup file and then bring them back after reestablishing sync?

Any help here is appreciated as I would hate to have to rebuild my huge list of bookmarks.
