Fortunately I haven't had to call in to tech support for any of my routers except when I had issues with replacing a Linksys that was just DOA. As far as backing up your router, you should have a tab on your router configuration page to allow you to save and back up a file to your computer.

I noticed that you have had a bad experience with Cisco and are currently not satisfied with your Belkin. What did you not like about the Belkin? Is there anything specific that you are looking for? USB ports?

I would start looking for a router that supports 802.11ac as opposed to 802.11n (ac is backward compatible with n). You will have an overall better experience with it if you transfer large files across your home network and will have that technology in your home for newer devices that you purchase.

Here's one I found on NewEgg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833162078

Buffalo AirStation Extreme AC 1200 Gigabit Simultaneous Dual Band Wireless Router – WZR-1166DHP
This router is backward compatible with a/g/n so you would not have to worry about your current devices having connectivity issues.

the problem i was having when using justin.tv i have to refresh the chat to see new messages i made this video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUtzlDXxwTY i had fixed it several times but it came back after resetting router the router disconnects from modem i fixed it by entering my computers ip belkin gave me the wrong ip which is the one from my desktop not laptop its fixed now i know i can save these settings but the other problem i have with this router is that it disconnects from my modem i have to keep unplugging it and i'm not getting my correct speeds my old internet plan was 50/5 i would get that speed on wireless as well now that my cable company increased my speeds because customers that have had the internet before august 20 2012 has been upgraded to 105/10 my router isn't getting that speed on my laptop its 20-30 down 9 up wireless but on desktop its 50 down 7 up then when plugged directly to modem bypassing router its 80-90 down and 9 up are there any good belkin routers?
