What happens when "any old virus" is using administrative privileges to subvert my system in Windows 7? I can't get the viruses off. It says I don't have administrator privilege. Is turning off UAC like closing the barn door after all the horses ran out? What do I do?

Boot from, and run the AV from a boot CD.

Kaspersky or Sophos or Avira.

There are others.

This is why it's recomended that you don't use an administrator account for your every day login account. If a virus infects an administrator account it pretty much has free reign of your computer. If it infects a limited user account, it's pretty much restricted to only messing up that account and not your system files.

Uninstall the old one and install eScan antivirus. M sure you wont face any problem.
