Hello all.
About a month ago I plugged my Alienware M7 Laptop into my 50 Inch Samsung LED and a spark jumped and fried my video card in it. Nice, so I bought a new computer and decided to be a smart guy and turn my wife's desktop into a dedicated TV computer cuz I'm dumb and it blew up her computer too. Doh >< Only thing is this time I seen electricity fly off of her video card. This time my LED TV decided it didn't want to work anymore either! Jesus. All off of a damn HDMI port!

I thought I knew a little bit about computers but after all of this happening I am second guessing myself. I cannot afford to replace these immediately and it sucks using a CRT TV.

Anyways here I am with this HP H8-1214, got a pretty nice price on it and didn't think I could go wrong with 6 cores and a 1 gig video card. Jesus... This piece of crap can't even run the new space hulk or payday.

I need to replace the power supply first and it scares me! I cannot afford for this computer to blow up on me. I have been reading a lot of reviews on power supplies and almost every one I have come across has blown up someones computer... maybe I'm just paranoid but I need help!

So what I need: (not made of money mind you!)
A power supply that will not blow up when I install it. HAH! Dimension: 5.5 x 5.9 x 3.4 (D x W x H). Suppose I need a 6 pin connector for a PCI port so I can run a decent graphics card. A decent cooling system on it would be good too because I am a little concerned about the heat my machine will produce when I get these upgrades done.

I also need a graphics card but honestly I haven't gotten to that point yet. Something powerful yet affordable. Picture URL: http://moofi.woot.com/offers/hp-pavilion-h8-desktop-computer-4 Above the video card port are bars to allow other PCI components to be properly inserted. Can I use a dual width video card in this computer? It looks like I may have to cut the bar out or something? I hope not!

Thanks in advance for the help and sorry I wrote a book. I tend to be overly dramatic... :pt1cable:

You will never get a decent card to run in that machine. The bios limits your upgrade options. My advice buy a barebones system and use the parts from the hp.
