Whenever I click on a music file/movie file to play in Windows Media Player, sometimes it will pop up, but not load. Other times, it wont pop up at all, but its still open in the Task Manager Processes. I also started having problems with Windows Explorer. Whenever I click on a folder, or the Explorer button on the taskbar, it wont open mostly, and when it does, it takes a very long time to search for folers, also when it says its fully loaded, nothing pops up, and I can't even navigate to another folder. I have a Dell Studio 1737, With windows 7 Home Premium installed (for some reason, it thinks my copy is counterfeit. :/), 500gbs storage (only half used), 5gb harddrive, and AMD drivers. I also recently replaced the charger because the old one had broken. Its a different style than the old one, but the site I bought it from said it was for Dell studio 1731 and up. The battery still has most of its life, as well. I haven't installed anything new lately besides my video converter, which was just an upgrade from the old one I had, and at the time, WMP still worked. Please help?

If it thinks the Windows copy is not genuine, you need to fix that first. What is this 5gb harddrive thing you are talking about? Do you only have a 5gb partition for Windows or something? Sometimes these issue come from a bad hard drive, you should see if the computer has an option in the BIOS to do a drive check or download a utility from the PC vendor or drive vendor that scans the drive. Do not just do the regular Windows check disk thing, that won't do much to find drive issues.

Also do a full disk virus and spyware scan.
If that does not help, installing Windows clean should fix things. Sometimes these issues come from a bad hard dri

I'm 2 years late with this, but I ended up downgrading back to Windows Vista and it fixed it. I'm not sure what happened, but I'm not concerned about it anymore. I still have the same computer however, 7 years and running strong (though the psu is slowly dieing at the moment). And what I meant by 5gb harddrive was the 4gb ram. I was such a noob two years ago. Excuse my noobi-ness. No longer a noob, thank god.
