Last night my computer ran great and was operational. This morning when I tried to power it on nothing worked. I tried resetting the psu, resetting the power strip, switching the power cables between my monitor and psu, unplugging and replugging the power cables to my motherboard, taking the little battery out of the motherboard and putting it back in, I even took my graphics card out to see if that did anything. Finally I performed the paperclip test and confirmed that my psu was done.
My question is this, what are the possible causes of my psu dying when it worked last night?
And should I pay to ship it to the manufacturer to have it fixed or will a computer shop be able to fix it for less and be faster?
It is under warranty so I know the manufacturer will be the better choice but I need my computer fixed quickly since I'm in school.
