Wont run in dual channel

When i put my ram in a dual channel configuration the system will not boot up it goes on and shuts up and does this repeatedly until turned off . I have too put them side by side in order for my system to even boot up, Its 1600mhz ram and its only running at 1033 also. The code on my motherboards led indicator is 55.

Core i5 3570k
sapphire radeon hd 6850
2-4 gb sticks of corsair dominator 1600mhz
500gb wd blue drive
Asus dvd writer
Corsair cx500 watt power supply

Sometimes you need to swith the RAM Profile in the BIOS> Most systems boot 1600 as 1333 but a simple Profile switch in BIOS fixes that.

check if you dont have to put one in the 1 slot and the other in the 3 slot for dual channel check your moderboard user manual for this .

Try booting with 1 stick in slot 1 - if you get to BIOS enable XMP, select profile 1, save exit, shutdown, install second stick in slot 3 and try - if no boot, do same using slots 2-4

Tryed this it still will not boot i dont understand whats wrong ? My motherboard manual says for dual channel use slot 2-4 i did and still getting an error what will xmp do?

give the name and model of your motherboard led code should be in user manual .

there is a cmos reset on the back of the board also see if the drmos led is on code 55 page 1-37 early memory initialisation and on the overclock box page 2-14 you see to set your memory .

Sounding like a bad stick, might want to run 4-5 passes of memtest on each, if both test OK may well be another bad MSI mobo
