Hello guys, I have an MSI Motherboard H87-G43, and I really wanted to know whether the Patriot Viper PV316G160C0K OR the Corsair Vengeance CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10 will be compatible with my mobo! Thanks!

Yes, but does the serial number of the RAM matter? The list of supported memory manufacturers along with their model is provided in the MSI support page, but the aforementioned memories's serial number are not in the list. Should I buy it?

The serial # of the RAM is irrelevant. Do not worry about that.

The form factor that you select is VERY IMPORTANT! The Corsair memory that you have listed is SODIMM which is for a laptop: DO NOT GET THAT!! http://www.corsair.com/en/vengeance-16gb-high-performan...

The Patriot RAM will definitely be compatible but it has rather tall heat spreaders: http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/detail.jsp?prodlin... Depending on your choice for a CPU cooler, this may or may not be a problem
