I'm preparing to build my first PC, and I have some questions about what you guys do with your current PC's.

How often do you guys turn off your computer?

I am installing a custom water cooling setup and I would also like to know how that works with turning the PC off and on. If you would keep the loop running or turn the pump off. or maybe you guys keep your computer on idle 24/7 when you go to sleep/work or what not.

Any advice would be great, thanks.

I turn my machine off at night, no reason to keep it running and I need to sleep near the thing so I don't want the noise.
Water-cooling doesn't change anything, its only if you were leaving the machine for say a month or two without running you would want to drain the loop. Stagnant water accelerates corrosion.

I have absolutely no idea about water cooling, I must say you are brave to tackle that on your first build...careful. I turn my PC off every night. It's a waste of not only power but unnecessary usage of components that I think slightly wear down the life. Computers benefit from being turned off.

Yeah, WC on my first build is a big obstacle, But I feel that I've done optimal research and have a pretty good idea on how it's all going to come together without messing anything up.

With prior PC's that weren't custom built, I always shut them off; and I have friends that never shut there PC's off so I was a bit confused. Hopefully someone on here with a water cooling setup and give some advice.
