Hi guys, hope someone will be able to assist

I've got a Intel DH55TC board (i3 processor). If computer is left unplugged for a day or two, I'm able to start up without any hiccups. Leave it switched off, but still connected to power, the pc won't turn on without resetting CMOS.

Up until now I've done the following:

Tested Motherboard - OK
Tested RAM - OK
Installed new PSU (tried three different ones) - OK
Replaced CMOS - twice
Updated BIOS

I've taken the PC to work and it does the same - which makes it clear its not a power problem at home, although I've used a power surge protect plug at home.

I hope someone will be able to help me :(

Hi Heironious

Thanks for your reply. forgot to mention, mobo was replaced by Intel, about 2 months before the issue started. So, the mobo is brand new? Plus everything on it is working fine. could this really be the mobo?

Just because it's new doesn't mean it's going to work. I see you tried everything and even the PSU twice. I am not 100% sure it's the MOBO but it's my best guess. It seems like the most likely culprit. Unless someone else has a better idea.

This computer problem is just like vehicle problems...trial and error : (
