Hey all,

I currently am running an i5-2500 setup on a ASRock Extreme3 Gen3 motherboard, plus a 6950. Should I expect any issues upgrading to a 7xxx or 8xxx series GPU?

Thanks in advance!

Hey, thanks for the reply, do you mean that I can not upgrade to the Nvidia cards? I must continue with AMD, if so I am happy to do so. I am thinking of picking up a 7970 when the new 8xxx series comes out, and 7xxx cards are likely to be on sale.

Oh sorry for tha last reply, i hce misunderstood you and read wrong i thought you were looking for a new CPU... but well it looks like you Motherboard supports PCI-E 3.0 16x, which is the port most new GPU's are using, so that should be fine ;)
but i'm not sure about your PSU, do you know which one you have and if it has a free 4pin.

You can choose both nvidia and AMD ;)
