This is going to be my first full build ever! I already have a case that will fit all components and a Corsair TX 650w power supply (circa ~2009). Here is what I have so far:

$700 Build

1. I am thinking of upgrading the Mother board to around $120-$130 range, but I am unsure of the best option. I have no interest in overclocking at this time.

2. There is a note about the RAM I selected that I included in that link. Is that reason for concern?

3. Is it worth spending the extra $10 or $15 for the 2 TB version of the hard drive?

4. Are there any other recommendations you would give me? This is my first build, so I will happily take any advice on the components that I can get. Thank you!

Solution
1.) If you will not be doing any overclocking, or will be using SSD, a $40 motherboard will work just fine.

2.) I would suggest that you choose a different RAM because your RAM will run at a slower rate on your current configuration.

3.) Yes, the extra $10 or $15 for a 2TB hard drive is worth it.

4.) If you will not be doing any overclocking, the CPU cooler is not necessary. Also, the money that you would save from getting a cheaper motherboard and omitting the CPU cooler can be used for a better video card.

Ok, thank you for the great reply! I will change ram to avoid a conflict. Is the CPU cooler completely unnecessary? I have heard that some CPU's tend to run hot even without overclocking.

I'm not sure about some CPUs being hot, maybe the heatsink is not working properly or something. I myself have an i5-3350P, a stock cooler, and some case fans. I use it for 12 hours of gaming and it works just fine. But just to be safe, you may get a CPU cooler as you wish.
