Hi there,

I recently built a new Haswell PC and set everything up inside a Coolermaster 922. Today I transferred it to a Coolermaster Storm Stryker and now Windows will not boot up. Does anyone know what the problem is? I get a blue screen and it restarts. Sometimes it says I can restore it to an earlier session or it attempts to 'repair files'. I've no idea what's wrong as I though it would simply be a matter of plugging everything back together in a different case.

I'm using a Samsung Pro solid state drive btw.
Edit: I forgot to mention it's Windows 8

Does your motherboard have multiple storage controllers? If so, you may have plugged the SSD into a different storage controller from the one where Windows 8 was initially installed. You could guess and test different SATA ports on the motherboard and see if one of those works. You could also look in your motherboard's manual to see if certain ports are connected to the chipset's internal SATA ports and others are connected to an add-on SATA controller.

It would help to know the code of the BSOD you are seeing. Can you press F8 as Windows starts up and select the option to disable automatic reboot on system failure and then post the error code of your blue screen?

Thanks
