I'm gonna build my pc with an i3, I'm currently set on the 3220 are there any better i3 cpu's for 150$

Solution
If this is for a gaming rig, then you may want to consider AMD's FX-6300 / FX-6350 CPUs which have 6 cores and are within your budget. The two downsides of AMD CPUs are:

1. Most importantly less powerful cores compared to Intel. Therefore, games using only 1 or 2 cores will definitely run better on Intel CPUs.
2. Less of a concern for most people is that they consume more power than Intel CPUs. Under stress a FX-6xxx CPU consumes 2x more power than Core i3 CPUs.

While on a per core basis AMD CPUs are weaker than Intel CPUs, the extra cores can help make up the difference against the Core i3 in games that can take advantage of more than 2 cores.

For that range I would get either the 3220, the 3240, or the 3350P. The 3350P is more expensive but performs significantly better. However with the 3350P you will have to buy a separate graphics processor as the 3350P does not have integrated graphics.

What's the purpose of the PC? Generally the answer is no. There is the i3-3240 which is clocked at 3.4GHz; 100MHz faster, but you will not notice the difference in real life usage.

You can buy the i3-3220 at newegg for $115 using the promo code provided in the link. But it expires today so you have until midnight pacific time to make your decision.

The i3-3240 is selling for $125, but at only 100MHz faster it is not worth paying the extra $10.

Lastly, there is the new Haswell (socket 1150) Core i3-4130T. It is the only Haswell Core i3 CPU available at newegg at this time. It is clocked at 2.9GHz since it is a low power chip (35w TDP vs. 55w TDP for Ivy Bridge Core i3 CPUs). Because Haswell is a slightly faster architecture, it would be equivalent to a 3.1GHz Ivy Bridge Core i3 CPU. It has an updated graphics core, the Intel HD 4400 which should be much faster than the Intel HD 2500. However, it still sucks compared to an add-on (discrete) graphics card. It's brand new and it sells for $140.

The Core i3-3220 for $115 is still the best deal.

In general, the Core i3 is capable of providing good performance in many games, or at least average. However, Crysis 3 is the 1st game where the Core i3 does very poorly. Compared to a quad core i5 CPU of similar speed benchmarks have shown around a 40% lower performance. Let me just be clear about this. Crysis 3 is an exception not the rule. The FX-6xxx would provide better performance in Crysis 3 compared to the Core i3, but it would be less than a Core i5.

The FX-6300 can be bought for $110 using the rebate code while the FX-6350 sells for $130 with the rebate code. Links are below.
