So this is the second time I've had this problem and I think this time I'll come here as I see people here actually get stuff done.
I recently bought some parts to build a PC (This is the third one Iv'e built). As I put the PC together updated all the drivers for the GPU and the MOBO I ran across a big problem as this is a PC for gaming, I couldn't actually play any game for more than 30 minutes without the PC fully shutting down on me and not being able to start up whilst blinking the Power LED, now what I thought was strange was that the Power LED keeps blinking for a few second after I completley pull the power cord out. This problem is really getting to me and Ive already had all my parts shipped back and tested and had been issued a new CPU. I installed the whole system again and Im still running into this problem. I will list specs below and if anyone can help me I would extremely grateful.
SPECS:
AMD FX-8320 (3.5Ghz)
AMD Stock Cooler
MSI 990FXA GD-65
XFX Radeon HD 7950 DD Edition
8GB Corsair Vengence Pro RAM
Corsair CX 600 Builder series
LG DVD Drive
NZXT Source 210 Elite Case

Any Help Please
Thanks.

I could easily be wrong but it may be your case, the 210 seems a bit small for that GPU and the 8320 is one of the hotter CPU's so heat could be you issue. If your PC was detecting alot of heat it would do a hard shutdown to prevent damage.

What I would do is play a game as you would normally but download and run CPU-Z and check it periodicly for about 15 mins and either show us the screenshots or just tell us the temps

It sounds to me like you are overheating. I would look into ditching the stock cooler.

In addition to what xroe wrote, try running a game and take the side panel off of the case, get a small box fan to blow into the case. Run your game for a while and if it shuts down then you know its not heat, but if it continues to run and you see improvement, then its a safe bet its overheating.

It sounds like you computer is shutting it self off due to overheating. Download coretemp and monitor your temps while gaming. As far as the blinking power light issue, that's just left over power in your system, perfectly normal.

Updating the stock cooler would also be a good solution, I'd recommend at least the coolermaster hyper 212 plus

or if you want to spend a tad more the H55 is a good contender for most CPU's

PS although newegg doesn't say that it is compatible with am3+, check the official website and it will say that it is.

Im downloading another game now to test I heard Prime95 might be good to stress test but is that a fair judge? Thank you all for the speedy reply :)

The blinking power light is just the last bit of power in your PSU before it runs out of juice. I believe they call that "retained power" but don't quote me on that, it's nothing to be concerned about...just keep it in mind when you start tinkering.

As for your issues, it sounds like thermal in my mind as well. Inside your CPU are temp sensors that can cause your PC to shut down if the temperatures get too high.

1.) What is your ambient temperature in the room?

2.) Do you have any cool air circulating around the room that could be diverted toward the intake on your case? How many case fans?

3.) Do you have HWMonitor to gauge what your internal temps are? (It's free, if you don't have it...you should get it)

4.) Are you overclocked or running stock settings?

Update for everyone:

Temps dont seem to match an overheating problem
I had 35C on CPU and 50C GPU and the system still shut down with the blinking light
Idle the system runs for a good while but stressing it at all shuts it down but no heat issue -.-
If anyone has had a similar system and could tell me about theirs it would be helpful but right now it seems like I'll be sending it back for a refund :(

It could be a PSU issue then, perhaps it is faulty and can not supply enough watts to power your system when it needs more then minimum.

I'm sure there is software for voltage and wattage monitoring but I don't know of any off hand, although i'm sure someone here does.

PSU is the next likely culprit. Have it tested before you start doing anything else...

How can I test the PSU, is there a way of me testing it without buying another one, I had sent back the CPU, MOBO, RAM and the PSU itself all came back reading as normal bar the CPU so how would I test the PSU further?

Take it to a PC shop, many won't charge you to test it (some will charge a minor diagnostic fee like $25 or something). You can also buy a PSU tester for about $20 if you would rather do it yourself/have it for future use. The instructions are pretty simple to test it.
