i use this prorams that requires a lot of "horse power"; ie, physics simulations (high res liquid); smoke simulation, building simulation and such, so it needs a lot of power to it, but i'm not acctually sure what is critical to run those simulations and bake them, cache? clock speed?.....
i'm acctually trying to gather and assemble a desktop, and i do things like 3d renering, raytracing and stuff, but i thought ishoul start with a cpu, then a motherboard, then the graphics cards then ram, power supply, then the box, ventilations etc etc....
i was gonna ask on a general forum, but there isn't one,
so if you have suggestions on cpu and motherboard, even better the whole system, please do inform me

Depending on your budget, you could always go cheap and get an FX8350 and optionally overclock it. Specifically for highly multithreaded tasks, the FX8350 performs comparably to an i7.
