Hi there.. I currently am trying to run 2 os on my machine. I have disc 0 running win 8 that it came with. I bought a new HDD and am trying to install win 7 on to it and every time I do it from the dvd it gets hung up during install after first reboot. I put in in another machine I have... and it loaded great but when I installed it back to my new machine it would not start up and system error came up asking to insert the win 7 disk. I tried that to but it also gets hung up while installing.. can you run win 7 on a machine or mobo that was set up with win 8... ANY HELP?

you probably need to fiddle with some settings to get the install to work, I haven't done much Win 7 & 8 dual booting, but with secure boot on 7 won't boot, and with it off 8 won't boot...There's also a setting to switch between UEFI and legacy bios mode...8 needs UEFI and 7 needs legacy. I've only done this on Win 7 era hardware, so there isn't a problem with all this (since it isn't there on pre-8 motherboards). Try changing those settings if you can find them, best of luck

Thanks for your advice. I have tried that and since windows 8 is the master boot drive it wont recognize windows 7 or the second HDD when I unplug it and reboot..
