Am2+/ AM3 question

HI!
I have a Foxconn M61PMV (crap, i know)
with ddr2 ram.

i just bought the Amd Phenom 2 X4 965

mobo compatability lists the 955 as the last compatible cpu in that category.

i know Am3 is Backwards Compatible with Am2+ but should i be looking at any issues here?

only spend 90$ so im not stressing, but any help is appreciated.

As long as the CPU fits the socket it should work , you may want to see if there is a bios update to help with compatibility. As with all CPUs and motherboards that are not exactly made for each other , that motherboard may not have all the features that the Phenom 2 is capable of that a newer board would have.
