motherboard MSI z87-g43
processor Intel i7-4770k
pwr supply Coolermaster RS550-pcar-e3
ram - Gskill 12800CL9D-8GBRL
ram - Gskill FS-10666Cl9D-8GBNT

the power supply has been tested and worked with another computer, the Motherboard and processor are new and both ram sticks have been tested, with one stick, the "12800", it seems to post with a somewhat quiet beep but the other stick doesn't beep at all. Looking up the motherboard it seems to be that the first is compatible and the latter isn't.

however the problem with either stick and whether or not it seems to post is that there aren't any visuals, whether we use a graphics card or plug directly into the motherboard. after about 30 seconds it will shut off and restart (no visuals), but then after that first restart it will just stay on also with no visuals. I figured since it doesn't shut off the second time its likely not due to the heatsink or any heat issue. we've tried monitors that have worked with other computers as well. the pins on the motherboard look fine mostly but there are some spots that may be ever so slightly out of place, its hard to tell if they actually are and I've seen pins that were more obviously bent work before.

Just wanted to check if there was something I was missing before I take the motherboard/Processor back to FRYS, thank you

you have a haswell cpu and need a compatible psu see the corsair list and your is not on http://www.corsair.com/us/blog/haswell-compatibility-with-corsair-power-supplies/ also you memory mismatch will work at the speed of the lowest one so 10666 and botleneck your system check your motherboard qvl list for memory that will work .

Picked up a CX750 psu from Corsair. Installed, reseated everything, but after 30 seconds of being powered on and not showing any display, the computer shut off. Then it powered back on (on its own) again not showing any display.

did you install the intel driver from msi for the cpu video chipset and if you could try a pci-e card in the system also make shure all cable are connected correctly to the motherboard and nothing make a short from the case and the board check if the stand off post are all in in the right place .

I don't really have any proof so this might not help much but it sounds board related. The "haswell certified psu" will only have an effect when the computer goes to sleep as haswell has different c/p-states and require different power delivery at these low power states so in the case the computer would crash on sleep or wake up not while running
