I've tried this tweak several different ways and none seem to work after re-setting the registry and rebooting windows goes into repair mode and does a system restore. Posts I've noticed dealing with this are several years old and was wondering is there a newer registry tweak dealing with newer MoBos and BIOS settings? I installed a SSD and it boots in RAID mode only, that was factory set as I cloned the OS using Macrium and would rather pull teeth than to have to do a clean install. In my dealings with changing things it seems the simple solutions work best. I was hoping there would be a way to just download the drivers but haven't seen one thing on that only the registry tweak and that just doesn't work at present.

I've about Googled myself to death on this thing...everything I read dances around the subject and doesn't hit the bullseye for my particular issue. Either it is a guess ( I think this may work) or a long drawn out process of creating bootable discs. Each time I turn a corner another obstacle presents itself.
My Samsung 120 GB SSD requires ACHI to perform properly. HP in their wisdom pre-installed RAID default (way to go HP) My HP 'Recovery' discs will only download to the same size Hard Disk, which was 1 TB. I am trying to do a backup and system image on a 1 TB Toshiba external but keep getting error 0x8007001B 'backup failed to complete' I've Googled that error message for two days and it gets danced around too. One fix was to go into the Registry and delete that error code but it wasn't even there. I cloned my original HDD (Hitachi) to a WD Red just in case and plan to use another WD Red for games and what not and keep the SSD as OS only but for the life of me can't seem to get a ACHI driven primary going on the SSD.
