I'm getting a bsod error 0x000000ED. Unmountable Boot Device. it's read in the bios. i have tried it in 2 different laptops. Windows 7 btw.

I tried last known good config

repair my computer and windows install disc both get stuck at the setup is starting screen. So therefore i have no way of chkdsk since I can't get to command prompt. Any ideas or is hdd junk?

Solution
Get a second HDD, install an OS on that, then run a checkdisk on the dodgey drive. I get the feeling it is screwed, but no harm in trying to see if you can recover any data.
