Yes! Sure you can run Battlefield 4 on Ultra settings. It's recommended settings are FX-6300 and GTX 660. So, you're good to go.

It will help in cases in which applications/games/etc are optimized for eight-core processors. Keep in mind, the more cores you're being held by, the more apps you can open at once without your computer getting any slower. Personally, I think you should be upgrading to the FX-8350 since you really get an extra boost in games and overall performance of your computer. Here's some testings towards my statement:

i understand that the 8350 will provide better performance, however, the there is a 75% price difference between the 6300 and 8350 where i live, Taiwan. I wonder if it is worth the investment.

fx 6300 = 3200nt ($110 us)
fx 8350 = 5400nt ($190 us)

Mhmm, it's all on your needs. If you're into only gaming, keep your 6300 since you will only see 2-10 FPS improvement depending on the game. Now, if you have the money and don't care about it then go for it. Refer to the video link I posted to see if it's in your needs investing the extra money on FX-8350. Once again, FX-8350 will not provide that of dramatically game performance improvement. Overall performance will be noticeable when rendering films, 3Dmodeling, Wed Development, etc.

Let me give you an example:

If a game it's using all of your cores, then you get to turn Fraps to record at 1080p on full frame, you will experience FPS drop. Depending on the game, depending the amount of FPS drop when recording. As I said, to avoid that, the more cores you're being held by, the more tasks you can do at once. If you're on that, FX-8350 should be your bet. Intel CPU's are better in those cases since they're multi-threaded CPU's leading to best performance per single core.
