Hi! I'm going to buy the amd fx-8120 cpu. I already have the Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard. So does the mobo support 125watt cpu? I'm going to overclock it . I have 750w psu. So will the system be stable?

More about : amd 8120

its not mobo that supports that power.the question should be will your PSU support that..in your case..yup it will easily.. and FX 8120 is a very good overclocker...
see if you can get a better deal for 8350...then definitely go for it..

Shabaz, some motherboards don't support 125W or 140W CPUs. They top out at 95W CPUs. As a 990FX board I assume this is not the case. It's usually a problem with older/lower end boards.

For example here is an older 760 board that while it supports FX CPUs, only up to 95W ones.

i would advise against the 8120. the fx 6300 is much faster for gaming and many other things, is a similar price, and uses less power.the 81xx, 61xx and 41xx bulldozer cpu's were a flop, with the older phenom counter-parts being superior.

I can buy the 8350 too but is it "bulldozer" cpu? Will it fit properly to my mobo because the mobo's description says it is for "Bulldozer" cpus.

Best solution

the 8350 is piledriver, much better than bulldozer. go for it. just check the cpu support list on the motherboard manufacturers website, often its just a bios update to support newer cpu's.
