So, i'm building a new system soon. I'll be using it for video editing and gaming, and I also want to overclock. This is what I'm thinking of: 4770K, Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD, 2TB WD Black HDD, Corsair H100i, 16GB 1600Mhz Corsair Vengeance RAM, 850W Silverstone PSU, CM Storm Scout 2 Advanced, GTX 760 SLI or 1 GTX 770. Now... a motherboard. HELP MEE!! I have only 4 in mind: ASUS Z87-PRO, Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H, MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming or the Maximus VI Hero. If there are any other one's please let me know. Willing to spend about $200-ish.

Because 16 GB and higher of RAM is just bragging rights and overkill and just like you said it's slow. I doubt you would every actually use up that much ram.

For the fast computer your wanting your gonna want the fastest RAM available for your budget, most people dont think its important but faster ram can make a huge difference.

Are you wanting a really fast computer, or just spend alot of money?

My recommendation:
Just get a regular WD hard drive since yor already have a SSD no need spend the extra $100 bucks on the WD Black
Get a Bigger PSU and only 8 GB of faster RAM 2133mhz or higher
definitely do a 760 SLI.
Motherboard get the MSI Z87 Gaming Board for a Single GPU setup and the ASUS Z87 pro for SLI setup

Yea I do want a fast computer, not just for bragging. And for the PSU, how many watts should I get? And why do you suggest 8GB of faster and not 16GB of slower ram

sorry about that you get a 1000 watt PSU with at least 80% efficiency, that way youll have plenty extra power for any addons or upgrades.

Its gonna be definately needed if your going to SLI

One more question: are you really sure that 8gb 2133 is better than 16gb 1600 for video editing? Sorry to ask this again but maybe you were thinking I was just gaming
