I have an older Acer aspire M5640 from 2009. The CPU is a Q8200 2.33 GHz with no ption to OC. The 9600 gt has broken and I need to replace it with something else, preferably with something a little better.
My question: What is the best GPU I can put in there without having the CPU become a major bottleneck? The most important thing is that I get a new card, at least as good as the old one.
PS: This is my first thread.

CPU : Intel Quad Core Q8200 2.33GHz 4MB
RAM : 4096 MB DDRII 533/667
Harddrive : 2 x 640GB 7200 RPM SATA
GPU : NVIDIA 9600GT 512MB/1919MB DVI-VGA-HDTV-DX10

I like to play some NFS hot pursuit plus some FIFA. I have been playing a little crysis 2 on lower settings and 1200*720 resolution. I know my PC will never be a great gamer, but as of now I have no GPU at all, so I need something my CPU can handle. My budget is around 100-150 dollars.

Most important, what is your current PSU, chances are that if its a prebuilt machine, the PSU will not allow for a newer card to be fitted. Just to be sure tell us your PSU Model and wattage.

A picture along side it is not badly tought

If yout PSU can handle it, this is what i would recommend

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121642
About 50% faster than the 9600GT
Not to expensive
4times de VRAM
Newer tec

You should be able to play newer games at med settings.

I actually had to replace the PSU a couple of years ago. The new one IS Silver Power SP-SS500 500W. That's sufficient isn't it?

I handt heard of this PSU before, but after taking a look, there is a review here at tom's and seem to be a positive review, that said. Its good to go.
