Hi guys,

I have a budget of 650 dollars, i'm planning to get a GPU (maybe SLI's ) for my 60Hz monitor. I might get a second monitor for help, but I will need that GPU for around 2-3 years.

I currently play on 1920x1080

What would be good?

My monitor: LG M2452D, its a TV (sort of), but i use it for gaming

EDIT:

My specs:
CPU: i7 3770k
Rams: 12gb
GPU now: 550 ti 1gb
motherboard: asus sabertooth z77
PSU: AX 860

If you want to play on 1080p with a single monitor, I would say the best decision would be to get a HD 7970 or wait a month to snag the R9-285(or whatever the new AMD card is called). If you want to go the Nvidia route, get a single GTX 770 2gb (SLI would be a huge waste for a single 1080p screen) If you get a second monitor and only if you also want to game on both, get a GTX 780 MSI gaming edition. But to be honest, i would recommend a HD 7970, great card for a good price; rather keep the money you save for yr next gpu upgrade in 3 years.

Any of the higher end GPUs such as GTX 770 or 780 will do. I've had my 670 for over a year now and there's not many game that i can't get 60 FPS with max graphics.

For that price it would also be feasible to get 2 GTX 670s which would outperform a 770. (I've seen them on sale for around 300 dollars.) The extra memory from 2 cards would be better for a dual monitor set up if you ever wanted to go that way. But it wont be worth it if you only want 1 screen.

Also there's the new ATI GPUs coming out soonish i believe, might be worth waiting to see what they do to the prices.

Twin 760's at $520 would garner the best fps, by a rather large margin over any single card option.

The 780 is $650 but with twin 770's costing just $720, I don't see a case for the 780.

New cards from AMD are coming in the fall and then nVidia again in 2nd Qtr 2014

I also have i7 3770k processor, and AX860 PSU (I think its way than enough for future reference) , and asus sabertooth z77 motherboard. 12gb of rams

I will probably purchase the GPU around november or october, so i might consider the new AMD card though

Don't...

I dont exactly understand what you mean, but i have 1x4 gb and 1x8gb rams, since my motherboard has 4 slots for rams, i've put them in this order: RAMS , free space, RAMS , free space.

(free space = free slot)

RAM for this platform is generally sold in "matched pairs" to maximize performance.

Thanks for the help, I might get a pair of corsair RAM's or something good with GPU, but now I have to decide what GPU i want :/  I'm thinking about 780 , because i think it will be good for another 3 years, and i might get another screen. I've read that there are some problems with SLI, so I'm trying to avoid it.

So what are your opinion about my GPU choice? any other ideas?

Yes, we often read about problems with SLI, not much documentation tho.... I'd say > 80% of builds I have been asked to do of late (since 5xx series) have been SLI. Benfore that was doing lotta builds with top tier card and a PSU big enough to add SLI latrer..... but by the time user ready to get that 2nd card, they were thinking the naxt generation.....IOW, by the time ya think about that 2nd 780.... the 980s are coming out.

1. I have never seen microstutter (don't use budget cards .... no MS from 650 Ti Boost on up).
2. Only know of one game that isn't supported (F1)
3. Usually takes about 2 weeks for new titles to get support.

I love the 780 Lightning but when I can get two MSI 770s for $10 less, to me it's a no brainer. Here's the numbers.

Thanks for the reply, but I was wondering, is 780 or 770 sli necessary for my monitor? I mean, its 60 hertz, and it wont probably matter if i'd get 770 SLI or just 770 (I THINK) , what do you guys think? Will I be able to notice the difference?

I've made up my mind - I'll get 770 4gb classified version soon, and in couple of years, if I will have some performance issues, I'll get another one for SLI version. And for the rest of the money , I'll get rams. Thanks everyone :)
