I recently had a post about latency issues with a computer game. I think it wound up being a slow computer and so I decided an upgrade was due. My friend gave me for free a GTX 295 card with a th850w corsair power supply. I decided to pair it up with this motherboard.

I also purchased 8GB of DDR3, 1600mhz Crucial Ballistix ram, and I swapped over my old Athlon II processor, 3.0mhz dual core. (Bear in mind this processor is 3ish years old) I plugged it all in, transfered processors and bam, no display. I can hear the CPU boot up properly though. Just to be sure, I swap the GTX 295 out, and put in my confirmed working GT 440, card and there it is, full display. So my question here is, did ny friend give me a dud card, or have I hooked it up improperly? Maybe the card is.t compatible with the board, but if that's the case the GT 440 shouldn't have worked then, under that assumption. Any other needed info I can 100% provide, just ask. But I don't know of the card is just bad, or I did something wrong here? Also another thing worth noting is, the card did have power. Green light on card was on, as well as the built in fan was blowing air. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Steve

From what you've said, it sounds like a dud card. You're right in assuming that the 440 wouldn't have worked either if it was a slot issue. You may want to try the card in a different computer and see if it will turn on.
