Hey guys. I currently have a 100mbps Cable connection and my current ($20) dollar router is bottle necking my speed from around 100mbps to 60. I also game heavily and want the connection to be as stable as possible while allowing for my family to use it for facebook lol.

Im looking for a router for around $150 but i have no idea what the best choice is. I want something that will not bottleneck my connection and has Ethernet ports (Pretty standard im sure)

I was thinking something along the lines of

But if anyone has any other choices please let me know

Thanks

If you're gaming and other people are using the Internet simultaneously, then you might want to think about getting a router that has QoS (Quality of Service), so that you can prioritize the gaming traffic over the other traffic types.

For $150, and sticking with Asus, the RT-N66U has QoS with a bunch of other features.

If you're willing to stretch another $50 or so, and want a good gaming router, then consider the D-Link DGL-5500 Gaming router (also has QoS).
