Hi,
this refers to connecting a phone to a Windows XP SP3 computer via USB.
I have an android smartphone, LG Optimus LG 7 II (LGP710), which used to connect to my PC either via wifi or via USB, both just under Windows as well as under the LG PC Suite, which is a program for connecting phone & PC.
Then I bought a large memory card for the phone and wanted to move as much as possible of smart phone on the internal memory to the memory card. To do this, I tried the following hack: http://www.bongizmo.com/blog/moving-all-android-apps-to-sdcard-apps2sd-froyo/
While I'm usually good at following such instructions, something didn't work. I couldn't use the described method to transfer apps to the external card.
Which is not a big deal - except that after my failed attempt now the phone doesn't connect to Windows or to the LG PC Suite any more.
When I connect the phone via USB now, Windows' Found New Hardware Wizard pops up. It still is able to install the phone as MTP device using c:\windows\inf\wdpmtp.inf (but - nuisance - it needs to go through the wizard and installation from scratch each time the phone is connected).
Other connection types, including the LG PC suite, result in the wizard fruitless searching of the wizard, and it keeps popping up again and again.
I suspect my attempt of installing that Google USB driver, as described in the above hack messed up my drivers.
How can I undo that installation attempt or restore the original USB driver situation?
Would a commercial product like DriveBooster Pro for $30 be able to fix my problem?
Thanks for reading my lengthy problem!
Peter
