Hello,

I just assembled my new computer, but it doesn't boot, when I press the start switch, all the fans start working for about 2 seconds, and then they stop (except for the cpu cooler fan, which just twitches at the start and the end of the 2 secs). They'll keep going on and off untill I switch the PSU off.
I've tried all the basics, like stripping it down to cpu + fan + 1ram stick, outside of the case, and the problem stays

The specs are as follow:

PSU: Corsair cx500 80+ bronze
MOBO: Asus p8h77-i
RAM: Patriot viper 2x4Gb 1600MHz
GPU: Sapphire Tech's Radeon 7870 OC GHz edition
CPU: intel i5 3570
HDD: seagate barracuda 500Gb 7200rpm

Note: At first I just thought that the PSU wasn't strong enough, but since the same problem occurs after stripping it all down, I don't think that's the problem

Hmm it sounds like a short somewhere in your build. Do you have a loose piece of metal somewhere or a screw where it's not supposed to be or an extra standoff touching? When you took the motherboard out of the case did you put it on something metal?
