Hey all! I decided to change up the thread in hope of an answer. I have TWO laptops i'm currently considering. I'd like to be able to play Sims 3 on at least medium settings.

Laptop 1
Dell Inspiron 15R SE - http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-15r-se-7520/pd?~ck=mn&~ck=mn
3rd Generation Intel® Core™ i5-3230M processor (3M Cache, up to 3.2 GHz)
Windows 8
6GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz
750GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive
AMD Radeon™ HD 7730M 2GB
6.09 lbs.
15.6" Full HD LED 1080p display (or something like that)
$799 Without tax, shipping, and coupon

Laptop 2
HP Envy 15t-j000 Quad Edition: http://shopping.hp.com/en_US/home-office/-/products/Laptops/HP-ENVY/E4T17AV?HP-ENVY-15t-j000-Quad-Edition-Notebook-PC
4th generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ Processor
Windows 8
8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
1TB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M Graphics with 2048MB of dedicated video memory
4 - 6 lbs.
15.6" Full HD LED 1920x1080 backlit display
$862 With Tax, Shipping, And 5% Coupon
HOWEVER, I would have to purchase an external optical drive.

I am really stuck between these two, I'm leaning towards Dell because that's what I'm using right now - It has lasted me almost 5 years.
Any other laptop suggestions would be appreciated, I'll fill out some Q&A below.
