I'm building up my tool collection. I've got a lot of things so far for computer work. But, I know I still need quite a bit.
I'd like to have a full diagnostics suite of tools and software.
I'm looking for HDD testing options and was considering an external Dock as I usually just use an enclosure. But, I am curious if there is something smaller and more design for testing purposing?
Also, of course things that will complete jobs in a timely manner. Thus utilizing the speed of USB 3.0 and other speedy technologies.
Right now since the one dock was on sale I'm curious to try it. Has both usb 2.0 and e-sata. Sadly the laptop I am using for this has no esata ports and 2.0 is slow. So, I'm trying to find an e-sata to usb converter that will be reliable, (i'll probably be using this for more than just testing, or order 2 of them.) I searched newegg and only found a generic brand item.
I am still searching as this is being posted. But, I'd love some suggestions for tools and other diagnotic ideas and or old trade "secrets" that go around that may be useful for me.
Example of the types of tools I'm looking for...
http://www.memorytesters.com/
Things like that, being able to test computer components without having "spares" around.
Already bought the PSU tester. Ram tester etc. Things that are relatively known to be good...
