Hey folks, I'm looking for knowledgeable input. I've been wanting a gaming desktop for a couple of years but honestly I know little about the components. I want the best I can get at this budget. I was going over the thread below and Im thinking about going with the setup shoryuken recommended. Through amazon all comes out to $1226. If you guys think something can be upgraded let me know. Looking forward to your input.

If you insist on having an i7, go for the 4770K instead of the 3770K. The 4770K replaced the 3770K in June. It'll get you a 15% bump in speed and energy efficiency. The 4770K uses a different socket so you'll need to get a different motherboard too. For that, the Asus Maximus line will get you the best bang for your buck.

You can compare the processors here: http://ark.intel.com/compare/65523,75123

i think i posted this thread on the wrong forum section? If i did, can it be moved to the proper section? thanks.ok, do you think it is a good setup? will it run BF4? From what ive read i7's are for video editing and that i5's are good enough to run games. So im thinking of sticking with i5 unless i5's are getting outdated.
