I want to use an external monitor with my laptop and use them both at the same time. Can I do this?

My laptop is a Acer E1-531 it has a Intel B960 CPU and onboard graphics. The monitor I want to buy is Samsung S22B150N, it is 1920x1080 connected via VGA.

And will it lag my laptop or anything?

Thanks!

Just use the extend display button on your laptop, and normally 2 monitors won't lag if you are just using it for simple things like web browsers email multitasking. so as long as you are not gaming which I guess you won't be with those graphics you will see 0 lag unless you try to run maybe 2 hd videos at the same time
