Yesterday there was black out and when electricity came back, I couldn't turn on my computer.

I thought my PSU died so today I went to microcenter and got new PSU, Seasonic 850W.

After I replaced psu, my computer still won't turn on. It turns on like 0.1 sec and turns off.

so i changed my motherboard to new one and it still wont work.

I have no idea why it wont turn on.

i am using i5 3570k, ripjaw 8gb ram x2, Seasonic 850w psu, asrock z77 extreme4, gtx780.

Any suggestion? I don't like to bring my desktop to microcenter and wait for more than a week.

help me please

p.s I build my pc like a month ago. its pretty much new

is it possible that blackout can kill CPU? or ram?

Yes, most definitly, a decent upspike or downspike can wreck stuff appart, if you still have warranty say nothing about the black-out and bring the computer to the store.

Not a smart move at all to go buy parts not knowing what is broken! but yea most definitly CPU or ram now, try taking about one ram and try with both of them one by one every Ram slot.

I believe newer motherboards still can be tested with one module?

If not possible borrow someones CPU if you can.

Hmm. Unplug the power from your computer (Including power cable) and press on the clear CMOS button. Sometimes surges can cause some issues regarding the motherboard shutting down and screwing up the bios.

Sounds just like a problem i had when i built my first computer, I shorted a part out and it turned out that my video card and hdd got fried. It turned on for a second then just shut off. I would take everything out of the case, Try using one stick of ram then if that doesnt work get a cpu put it in and test it if thats not it then return that cpu.
