Fixes help............if stupid shit to try that doesn't correspond to this don't on typing. I am a serious less than 8 users that are trying to convert with the user 7 degree lol.

WTF are you talking about it runs fine people. I am running a brand new Windows 8 install without 8.1 preview. Installed the steam client from 7, nothing with user ID and password. Tried steam tile and public ID, nothing. Logged onto Steam from my wife's 7 setup I have yet to change just fine. What am I doing wrong. My specs are
Core I7 Gen 3
16 GB Ram
MSI MB for Core I7, I know it has nothing to do with this as I used the same system for 7 Logon
256 GB Crucial SSD
Am I really this stupid?????
Please tell me I am not.
If I am I have a lot to tell CTU online about, lol....

Well I can almost understand what you are writing...

I *think* from what you are saying that you are having trouble migrating Steam from 7 to 8? I would suggest installing Steam fresh first from steampowered.com. Once it is installed and you've logged in, it will have created the directory structure you need. I then copy my steamapps/common folder across from the old (it contains most of the games) to the new, when I log into Steam, I have to click on each game (I have over 150, so yeah it can be a pain), but it finds the data and that's about it. This worked fine for me to go from XP 32bit to 7 64bit.

This method does lose saves that aren't cloud synced - don't know if that's an issue for you.
