gtx295
quad core q9550 (2,8ghz)
4gb of ram

goin on

gtx295
fx6350 (3,9ghz)

It will somewhat give you fewer fps than a higher end cpu like th gtx 295 release in 2008 which was about 2 years after the first i7's came out so they where more aimed towards a higher end cpu for performance and plus you also have a downfall with your gpu because it is a dx10 video card which means you can't play all of the latest games. So what I would do is if you are a amd person go for the fx series of processors and get a motherboard that suits your needs, then if you are a intel person go with a z87 motherboard and something like a 4670k which will be more then enough for gaming, then get 8gigs of ram and then get something like a radeon 7950 from amd or a gtx 760 from nvidia or do some research on a more budget oriented build

I'm saying you probably would want a stronger video card with more updated features, more titles are coming in that don't have the option to run in dx10 or dx9 mode so you would be better of getting a 7950 or a 760

The best solution would be go for the fx and only get 8gigs of ram 16gigs is complete overkill for gaming. and then take that extra money and put it towards an aftermarket heat sink for overclocking or save it for a newer video card down the road because you are using a video card from 2008 which now being 2013 would mean it is past the 5 year mark which is nvidia's recommended upgrade cycle. so yes buy the FX and 8 gigs of ram maybe even an ssd if you have the money
