When power on this Gateway computer, I get nothing but a blank screen and a slow pulsing power light.

MB: MSI MB.G3609.002 MS-7399

I have tried different power supplies, tried clearing cmos with the jumper and removing the battery, and I've tested the cpu and ram that they work.

One solution I was hopeful would work was to try and recover the bios:

"For AMI BIOS

Rename the desired AMI BIOS file to AMIBOOT.ROM and save it on a floppy disk. e.g. Rename A569MS23.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM

Insert this floppy disk in the floppy drive. Turn On the system and press and hold Ctrl-Home to force update. It will read the AMIBOOT.ROM file and recover the BIOS from the A drive.

When 4 beeps are heard you may remove the floppy disk and restart the computer."

I have tried this using a usb stick with no success and feel a floppy might not be any different. When I remove the RAM and power up, no beeps are heard. No beeps are ever heard.

I feel like this MB isn't toasted, but this pulsing light issue seems somewhat common for this computer. Either way, if a replacement board is needed, I won't be putting the same board back in the box.

If I do replace the MB, I'm looking for something preferably with the same processor (Intel Pentium E5200) and RAM (DDR2 800MHZ). Preferably a less expensive MB also. Here is one I was looking at:

Thank you for any help and suggestions!

I've decided to buy a new MB.
This is the one that I chose:

It didn't come with an I/O shield, how important is this especially if I wanted to sell the computer?

I have the same issue with this desktop. Did the new MB solve the problem?
