Is your computer powered on? Check all fans if they are working, especially the ones from the GPU. If they all are, try to take out your GPU blow away some dust from the connectors and put it back in to ensure that it's placed correctly, check all cables the GPU needs. If it's possible, try other cables or monitors.

If that doesn't work, be more specific with your parts (Brand, models, etc.) and we'll hear from you.

Ok will do it soon because I am just getting home. The only cables that are in the gpu are the 8 pin connecter that is
connected to my psu right? I also have an empty 6 pin socket on it but I dont know which cable to put in it. Also I have two cables that came with my psu I am not using. They are a cable that looks like the one plugged in the odd and one with two white connectors with the shape of an
ipod charger with 3 metal prongs inside I
think.

Are you able to upload photo's of the connectors you mean?

As I can tell from what you say, your GPU needs 8+6 pin to power it. You only connected the 8 pin? Can you tell me specific parts if you know them? What PSU, GPU and Motherboard will be most usefull.

A basic PCIe power cable has a 6 pin connector. When you have a 8-pin connector, it is 6+2 pin most of the time, so you can attach either 6 pins or 8 pins. The extra 2 can be left hanging unconnected.

The cable you describe as the iPod charger with 3 metal prongs (it is the same shape, but just bigger and thicker) would probably the Molex connector. If you happen to not have any PCIe cables left, it is possible to use converters that use 2 Molex connectors to make 1 PCIe connector which might be an option for you.

But so far we need:
- GPU model
- PSU model
- Mobo model
