I tried to make a budget gaming PC, i would like to hear any suggestions or thoughts on the components i chose. thank you

CPU: i5-4570
Motherboard: MSI H81m-P33
Memory: 1x 8GB DDR3-1600 CL10
Storage: WD Green 500GB
Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 60GB
Video Card: XFX HD 7870 2GB
Case: Antec GX700
Power Supply: Corsair CX500
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-S224BB DVD RW

I would get an xfx550 PSU. Much better quality than the CX line from Corsair. Get a 7200rpm drive. Those green drives are mighty slow.

Your component priorities are out of are out of whack ... you are spending $250+ on your CPU/Mobo (which I'm not sure what an MSI H81 is but suspect it would not be 'top-shelf'), buying an el-cheapo HDD, and only spending $170 on your video card in a 'gaming build'

Flip things around -- spend $250+ on your video card and buy an i3 or an FX6300.
