Install CD made from I386 folder

Do microsoft care what Install CD you use as long as you have a unused coa/key. I know xp supports ends next year, but I just purchased 2 Dell computers for next to nothing for my games and programs that only work on xp. Both had no OS installed but had COA sticker for XP Professional. I had no XP Professional, so instead of buying one, I used a I386 folder I saved from an old computer I had and made my own XP install disk. Is it legit to use this disk than activate windows via the COA sticker on the case or do I haft to buy a regular XP disk or Dell recovery CD. I got XP installed on the one and activated via automated phone system.

As long as you use a valid key, you can install the XP OS from anything.
