Specs:
cpu: amd fx 8320
gpu: amd radeon hd 7950
storage: 2 hard drives 7200rpm
memory: 8gb ram (2X4gb modules)
4 case fans
psu: 550w Cit gold edition

I can use the computer without no hitches when im browising the internet or watching videos. However, as soon as i play games or stress just my graphics card, my pc goes into some sort of power save mode where its unresponsive and i have to hard reboot. Also, no BSOD, Viruses etc but the display just goes black.

help would be appreciated :)

yes, that's what i meant, that PSU is rated 550W but its a poor quality unit that does not really provide its rated capacity, so when under load it can't provide enough power
can u look at the sticker and tell me the Amps on +12V?

Hi,

Your PSU is crap. Sorry for language. If it has double rails with each on 16 amps it can't deliver 32amps out. This unit may not go over 25amps. Good units can't provide full current on both rails. Your CPU is TDP monster (125) + 180-200W in full load on your Radeon. That's not nearly enough.
You need to get better unit. Much better unit.

Best regards :)

OCZ is a Brand name, a pretty good one too. That PSU is rate 80+ Efficency so it's decent.
