So I just requested an RMA for my corrupted hard drive and I've already backed up most of my essentials, the problem is, I have some movies in a folder and I've backed them all up except for ONE.

Every time I attempt to copy this one movie over to my external hard drive, it starts a green bar and then stops as a red bar at the same point every time. It seems impossible to back this one file up. The file works perfectly fine and everything else in the same folder copied over without a problem. What is the problem here? And furthermore, what's the solution?

Thanks for reading, I will select a best answer!

Try something like Unstopable Copier. Just because the files are in the same directory doesn't mean they're in the same physical location on the disk. If you're doing an RMA on the HDD, something is obviously wrong with it and the problem you're having is likely a result of that.

You could also try defragging the Hard Drive. If the file has been fragmented, perhaps moving it into contiguous space will help.

Thanks for your answer. My apologies but I got impatient and decided to format the drive. I decided to just let that particular file go. I give you best answer since you really were helpful. Thanks again.
