it worked just fine 2 years ago now it does not I used the paper clip method to check the PSU and it spun up and turned on but when the PSU is plugged into the motherboard it will have a green light on the motherboard and when you press the power button on the tower it does not turn on everything is plugged in right and it is a custom built pc with a xion soloris case and a P4G8X motherboard

hi, my desktop also experienced this exact problem. The motherboard light is on(the green light) but it won't turn on. This happens when my cousin plugged a mic jack in front of the cpu then it suddenly shuts down and now it won't turn on. I just need to ask, is it possible that the motherboard is busted even if the light is on? sorry for my english btw

I tried putting my RAM in other slots but still doesn't fix it. Also I tried jumping the psu, resetting the cmos battery but still no good. Then I take all of the parts and check to see the whole motherboard and I saw burned piece then we brought it to a shop and they say it is where the mic jack leads to. And also they concluded that my PSU is too weak to support the whole cpu. And that we are lucky to use it for 4years. My motherboard is Intel i-7 quadcore first edition. And it is already phased-out so we built another pc. I hate it when I think about it. Never thought that just because of that mic jack it will cause us a big problem. Then I got frustrated to the shop where we built it 'cause he gave us an incorrect psu.

I just had the problem a minute ago....

1-i opened the ram and ccleaned it up.
2- i saw all the connections at the motherboard was ok..
3-i kept restarting the computer.
4- switched the boot screen... I don't know how it works, but my computer just comes to normal...

I just fixed the same issue. The problem was with the power button. I took the front panel off, reconnected it and it worked fine.
