Hi everyone,
I'm considering a PC upgrade. I want to put a new motherboard, CPU and more RAM in it.
The problem is, that if i want to use the same HDD with windows 7 32bit OEM on it, will it work?

Thanks in advance.

Solution
No.
It may or may not boot. And if it does, OEM activation will fail. You might be able to sweettalk Microsoft into allowing a reactivation, but that is generally just for replacement of a broken motherboard, not new, upgraded parts.

EDIT: Change the above "No" to "Highly doubtful"

Booting would be highly suspect .....and if it did, I'd expect lots of trouble from all the new hardware incompatibilities with old drivers on that HD.

E=In early summer, I had upgraded two failed 1156 boards to 1155 with new CPUs .... used same MoBo manufacturer, same RAM and everything else....installed fresh..... both activated on line w/o issue. "Your mileage may vary"
